Dystech's suggested syllable reading guidelines are based on the regularity of multisyllabic words in children's reading material in relation to their age.

Age

Syllables

6-7 years

1 - 2 Syllables

7-8 years

1 - 3 Syllables

8+ years

1 - 4 Syllables
