Introduction
To offer a more structured and organised approach to student data management, Dystech has introduced a new feature that allows users to assign students to specific classes or schools. This article will guide you step by step on how to utilize this feature efficiently.
Prerequisites:
Before any user can assign students to classes or schools, the account owner must first set up the available schools and classes. Only after this setup can the rest of the team begin assigning students.
Step-by-Step Guide:
1. Account Owner Setup:
1.1. Navigate to 'Manage Account':
Log in to your Dystech account.
Under your profile name, find and click on the ‘Manage Account’ option.
1.2. Add Schools & Classes:
Inside the 'Manage Account' section, you'll find options to add schools and classes.
Click on 'Add School' to enter the details of a new school. Once added, it will become available for the team.
Similarly, click on 'Add Class' to input class details. Ensure you provide a relevant class name for easy identification.
When finished, press 'Save'.
Similarly, when adding a new Student, you will have the option to assign them directly to a school or class.
Note: Only the account owner has the privilege to add or modify schools and classes. This ensures consistency and avoids any accidental deletions or changes.
2. Assigning Students to Schools & Classes (For All Users):
2.1. Select a Student:
From your dashboard, navigate to the 'Students' tab, and click on your student's name.
2.2. Assign to School & Class:
Once you’ve selected a student, navigate to the 'Student info' tab.
Choose the appropriate school and class for the student.
when finished, press 'Save'.
Conclusion:
Organising students under specific classes and schools not only simplifies data management but also optimises filtering and reporting functionalities. Ensure that the account owner sets up the schools and classes appropriately so the team can harness the full potential of this feature.
